Our Global Innovation Engineering team’s goal is to ‘think big and plan ahead’ by tackling challenging problems that can transform the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of McCain’s manufacturing operations using cutting-edge technologies and robotics solutions. We are looking to add a Global Innovation Project Engineer/Lead to contribute to the success of our Greenfield Project in Germany.

Summary:
This is an exciting high impact role in Global Innovation Engineering that will lead projects that select, test, conduct POCs and deploy advanced industrial technologies for our greenfield project in Germany, including sensors, IoT devices, vision and AI-based systems, including robotics solutions. The role will interface closely with Global and regional engineering & manufacturing organizations to design, develop and implement innovative industrial technologies across CE and the Germany greenfield. A key member of the Global Innovation Engineering Team, this role provides the opportunity to interface and influence across the company and senior leadership. Looking for an energetic and passionate leader who can help pave the future for McCain. This role can be based in France, Belgium, Netherlands or UK.
Responsibilities:
- Key Project Leadership & Execution: Lead the execution of key advanced technology development projects across CE, with a focus on the Germany greenfield.
- Scope Definition: Collaborate with engineering, project managers, plants, and other stakeholders to define the functional requirements and scope of the robotics and automation projects.
- System Definition: Work with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, specifications, and system architecture.
- Design and Development: Participating in the design and development of various subsystems, including mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- Verification and Validation: Implementing verification and validation plans to ensure systems meet specified requirements and are safe and reliable.
- Prototype Development: Work with regional and global stakeholders including the Robotics Center of Excellence to design and develop robotic and automation prototypes.
- Project Management: Lead the development of timeline, resources and cost estimates and for development and deployment of robotic systems. Manage external partners in the development of robotic solutions.
- System Integration: Overseeing the integration of subsystems into a cohesive whole, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
- System Testing: Planning, overseeing the execution, and analyzing system-level tests.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the development or operation of the system.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks throughout the system lifecycle.
- Documentation: Creating and maintaining technical documentation for the system.
- Collaboration: Working with other engineers, designers, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Knowledge Base: Explore and maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art and emerging technology trends in robotics and automation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Background in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Robotics) preferred.
- Minimum 3 Year experience in advanced technology/R&D project management.
- Minimum 3 Year experience in manufacturing and plant operations including scope, budget and timeline development.
- Experience in systems engineering methodologies
- Experience in robotics and/or automation project execution
- Experience with computer vision and machine learning technologies preferred
- Experience in R&D and/or product development
- Ability to work cross functionally across business departments
- Travelling in this role is approximately 20%
