Summary: The primary objective of the Marine Technician position is to attend to repairs and maintenance on the new Leopard catamarans under warranty.
What you will be doing:
- Perform repairs on new boats during the commissioning & warranty process (mainly in Saint Raphael, France).
- Properly troubleshoot, diagnose, & repair various boat systems (power & sail) in a timely manner. Including but not limited to:
- Plumbing
- Water makers
- Generators
- Engines
- Invertors
- Electronics
- Fit & finish issues (gelcoat/fiber and basic carpentry work)
- Caulking
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used in marine maintenance.
- Handle multiple work orders and utilize computer/mobile systems to document work that has been performed.
- Work with sales agents and aftersales officer with projects as they develop.
- Preparation of boats for events and boat shows.
- Participate to Yacht acceptance and commissioning.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and/or qualifications:
- Fluent in French and English
- Previous experience in a similar role within the yachting industry; experience with electrical systems and cabinetry repair
- Competent in boat construction, onboard systems, and maintenance is required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills
- Proactive and able to work independently without supervision
- Maintains a calm and positive demeanor in high-pressure situations
- Excellent attention to detail
- Willingness and ability to travel 6 to 7 weeks per year within France and internationally for after-sales service, deliveries, boat shows, and related events
