The Mechanical & Electrical Technician will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cryostat systems and instrumentation racks used in our quantum computing research and development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both mechanical and electrical engineering, with hands-on experience working with precision for mechanical devices and high-performance RF electronic components.
Responsibilities
- Perform the daily and new assembling inside cryostats operations following established procedures, within set time-frames, and using the provided equipment.
- Assist in the assembly and installation of electronic instrumentation racks, ensuring proper configuration, signal routing, power supply, etc.
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs mechanisms, RF components etc..
- Develop best practices for assembly, testing, and qualification with detailed logs and documentation
- Work closely with engineers team to understand requirements and provide technical support for experiments.
- Carry out installation maintenance, repairs and system upkeep activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and best practices for handling delicate equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve fast delivery of new systems (purchasing, stock management,etc..)
- Inspect deliveries and track incoming stock.
- Monitor stocks of mechanical, cryogenic, RF components, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in general mechanics (mechanical assembly, reading 2D/3D drawings). Competence in interpreting electrical and mechanical diagrams and bills of materials.
- Experience with assembly of precision mechanical, electrical, and electronic prototypes.
- Experience in assembling and configuring instrumentation racks, including RF signal wiring, coaxial wiring
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Professional English
- Nice to have: Experience of working with cryogenic systems, cryostats or similar precision mechanical/electrical instruments. Familiarity with vacuum systems, thermal insulation and low-temperature physics.
