Role overview:
At Continuity, we’re building an innovative SaaS platform tailored to the insurance industry. Our mission is to streamline the underwriting process and deliver robust risk analysis through advanced AI models. We’re entering a new phase: industrializing cutting-edge AI systems that blend robust ML models, RAG architectures, LLM agents, fine-tuning, and seamless product integration.
We’re hiring an AI/ML Engineer to design, develop, and deploy systems that will transform our internal operations, underwriting capabilities, and overall customer experience. As a senior individual contributor, you’ll bring deep expertise in deploying AI models, optimizing ML and data engineering pipelines, and implementing intelligent agents in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
You’ll play a key role in building scalable infrastructure and robust AI solutions while working independently to optimize our systems and drive our shift toward agentic AI systems.
This role offers hybrid flexibility (the team is Paris-based)
Key responsibilities:
Hybrid AI Systems Design
- Architect AI systems that combine ML algorithms, LLMs, and orchestrated agents.
- Prototype high-impact business use cases: underwriting assistants, risk extraction, document processing.
- Design and structure AI agent teams for specific operational goals.
- Identify and recommend the best-fit open-source or proprietary tools.
Product & Business Iteration
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Science Officer, applied ML engineers, data engineers, PMs & Ops to transition prototypes to production.
- Translate business value into concrete engineering actions, ensuring relevance, reliability, and robustness.
- Lead initiatives around data collection and evaluation pipelines (e.g. annotations, synthetic data).
- Contribute to internal documentation and foster adoption of AI solutions across the company.
Production & Scalability
- Actively contribute to architectural decisions that ensure compliance, reliability, and scalability.
- Co-develop a modular agentic toolbox to support future applications.
- Integrate AI systems into our tech stack (APIs, internal tools, libraries such as dspy).
- Implement observability: logging, monitoring, alerts, and dashboards to track performance.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure the security, traceability, and robustness of AI systems.
- Contribute to AI governance initiatives (metadata, usage limits, internal audits).
- Provide input on compliance and ethical AI usage.
Technical Leadership
- Advocate for "AI-first" approaches using agentic architectures.
- Promote adoption of advanced engineering practices (smart tech choices, CI/CD workflows).
- Be a central player in driving innovation, focused on robust, scalable, and reliable systems.
Innovation & Tech Watch
- Stay actively informed about emerging technologies, frameworks, and methodologies in AI and ML.
- Test, adapt, and deploy innovative ideas aligned with business priorities, research, and product evolution.
What you bring:
Experience & Technical Skills
- 5–7 years of experience as an AI Engineer, ML Engineer, or equivalent, with a strong academic background in engineering or applied sciences.
- Proven experience deploying ML models and scaling AI systems in production environments.
- Proficiency in Python (production-level: FastAPI, asyncio, etc.) and ML frameworks (PyTorch, transformers…).
- Deep knowledge of modern AI frameworks: dspy, pydanticAI, vLLM, MCP, etc.
- Hands-on experience with fine-tuning/distillation (e.g., QLoRA).
- Solid grasp of RAG, embeddings, multi-tool agents, and context-aware servers.
- Experience working with both open-source models and API-based LLMs.
- Strong MLOps mindset: CI/CD, observability, testing, security, Docker, AWS.
Mindset & Soft Skills
- Strong autonomy, delivery-driven, curious, and team-oriented.
- Technical leadership and the ability to guide while remaining a high-impact individual contributor.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Passion for applied research and bringing AI solutions into production.
- Problem-solver with strategic thinking and the ability to optimize processes for real business impact.
- Enthusiastic about fast-paced, scaling environments.
Why this role is unique:
This AI/ML Engineer position sits at the heart of our tech transformation. It reflects our ambition to evolve our SaaS platform from a powerful solution into an intelligent co-pilot for underwriting. By industrializing generative AI and agentic systems, you'll help accelerate decision-making for insurers, improve customer service quality, and strengthen our competitive edge in a rapidly shifting market. Your expertise will directly turn AI into a tangible, measurable, and differentiating value driver, for both our clients and internal teams.
