What you will do

As a Mainframe Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining applications that meet user needs in the field of industrial supply. You will collaborate with a team of developers, a Digital Product Owner, and a Digital Product Manager to deliver robust and scalable solutions while regularly interacting with people in India and Sweden. You will join the Digital Delivery Manufacturing team based in Lyon. It's a permanent contract.


Key responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, and test Mainframe applications using COBOL, IMS, DB2 and JCL.
  • Ensure corrective and evolutionary maintenance of existing systems.
  • Optimize application performance and ensure their reliability.
  • Participate in specification, design, and technical documentation phases.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand and implement functional requirements.
  • Provide technical support and resolve production incidents.
  • Ensure compliance of developments with current security and quality standards.

Who are you?

In this role, you will bring the following:

  • Higher education in computer science (or equivalent).
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Significant experience in development on IBM Mainframe (z/OS) environment.
  • Proficiency in technologies: COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, TSO, ISPF.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps tools.
  • Analytical mindset and rigor: ability to take a step back and understand complex workflows.
  • Writing and maintaining unit tests to ensure code reliability and functionality.
  • Agile methodology: Actively participating in sprints, ceremonies, and Agile processes to deliver value incrementally.
  • Team collaboration – Ability to work effectively with team members, fostering a positive and productive environment.
  • Adaptability – Quickly adjusting to user needs, new technologies, or changing priorities.
  • Problem-solving collaboration – Working with the team to analyze challenges and co-create effective solutions.
  • Open-mindedness – Welcoming diverse perspectives and integrating feedback to improve team outcomes.
  • Knowledge of the supply chain industry would be a plus.
