About the Role:
This is a key role managing and delivering the global distribution strategy in our EMEA region for a growing business, to build a high-performing business in a competitive market.
This role will lead global distribution activities in support of the LM Re business strategy. The role operates cross-functionally, requiring strong collaboration and communication across several departments.
About the Department & Team:
The international global distribution team is a diverse group located across five countries. The team works across all our LM Re regions and product lines.
Liberty Mutual Re (LM Re) provides brokers and cedants with a broad product range through both the Company and Lloyd’s markets. LM Re is situated in all core global market hubs and offers treaty property, casualty and specialty products. As of 31 December 2024, it had over $3bn of revenues.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead our market management initiative to strategically expand and sustain partnerships, enhancing our performance and business growth. Be the key driver in ensuring a cohesive global approach.- Regularly engage with Market Managers and Product leaders in EMEA esp. Southern Europe to establish and maintain a best-in-class relationship management framework, effectively coordinating various initiatives to drive mutual success
- Confidently communicate the LM Re strategy internally and externally, ensuring effective implementation of business plans and rigorous performance management of brokers.
- Lead data-driven initiatives to enhance relationship management, pipeline generation, and adoption of tools such as Salesforce, while delivering high-quality business forecasting, analysis, and reporting.
- Prepare high-class presentation materials for LM Re Executives and Underwriting teams to boost market and product line presence. Attend strategic broker or client meetings on Executive level if required
- Serve as primary point of contact for our Underwriting Community and functions within the Global Distribution department in EMEA especially in the Southern Europe region
- Assist in the development of materials for our product offerings and market strategy, as well as support organizing client and broker events in the region
- Collaboration with the Underwriting Community and the Global Distribution Team to develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of critical data and collaborate with our Key Client managers to develop and implement client strategies. Additionally, assist in identifying new target clients for our Key Client Management
- Collaborate with the Underwriting Community and Market Intelligence team to deliver valuable insights on market trends, broker activities, and key client information. Enhance knowledge sharing and ensure regular reporting to all relevant stakeholders.
- Leverage business acumen to keep our organization ahead of client and broker trends and identify business opportunities across markets and product lines.
- Lead and support our strategic global distribution initiatives to enhance portfolio growth and improve alignment and effectiveness.
- Build and maintain relationships with Underwriting Managers, Regional and Market Managers, Product leaders, to understand growth objectives, business priorities etc.,
- Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LM Re's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of reinsurance principles, practices, and procedures as well as financial statements and insurance data is essential.- Understanding of broker placement activities and communication strategy and tactics. Proven experience in dealing with brokers.
- Bilingual in French and English, other languages could be beneficial (Spanish, Italian)
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills at all levels in the organization. Influencing and negotiation skills and strong teamwork are essential.
- Project management experience and proven skills and experience in working on major projects involving a multitude of internal and external interfaces.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, as well as exercising good judgement in a range of situations.
- Self-management, planning and organizational skills. Demonstrates initiative and enthusiasm.
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Experience of working with senior stakeholders in the reinsurance sector is essential.
- Exceptional relationships management skills and evidence of building relationships as well as ability to follow through and risk and issues and track them to closure.
- Education: University degree in Business Management, Economics or Risk Management, Mathematics and Finance.
- Ability to travel on an ad hoc / infrequent basis.
- Extensive experience in Reinsurance, Insurance or the Financial Service Industry
