The Bilingual International School of Paris is seeking a creative, dynamic, and experienced Music & Drama Teacher to join our team starting September 2025. This is a part-time position working with children aged 3 to 10 years in a bilingual, multicultural environment.
About the Role
We are looking for someone who is passionate about inspiring young learners through music and drama. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of teaching performing arts to children, creating age-appropriate productions, and leading two major school shows per year, including musical elements, singing, and drama.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, high-quality music and drama lessons to children aged 3–10
- Teach basic musical concepts (rhythm, pitch, tempo) using instruments, voice, and movement
- Introduce dramatic expression, role-play, and performance techniques
- Plan, direct, and produce two annual school shows (e.g. Christmas and end-of-year)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and adapt content to suit different age groups
- Encourage creativity, confidence, and collaboration in a bilingual classroom
- Respect and celebrate cultural diversity and multilingualism
Requirements
Degree in Music, Drama, or Performing Arts
Education/teaching qualification – strongly preferred
Proven experience teaching young children in a classroom or school setting
Experience producing and directing performances for children
Comfortable working in a multicultural, bilingual environment
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Fluency in English (French is a plus)
Valid work authorization for France
Two professional references (which will be checked)
Able to work collaboratively as part of a creative, caring team
