Main Purpose of the Role
Provide support to DCM originators to develop a sustainable client focused primary markets origination business in EMEA
Key Responsibilities
Principal Duties
Specifically, you will be responsible for the following specific duties:
- Support MUFG’s DCM origination efforts in the EU with a focus on adequate corporate issuers
- Conduct analysis on market-related information, undertake research (client industry, credit dynamics, and market developments) and present this to support internal and client discussions
- Work on transactions and support the team by carrying out transaction-related procedures such as documentation review, deal notifications, information-gathering for KYC procedures
- Build relationships with colleagues at all levels within Capital Markets, including Bond and Loan Origination, Capital Markets Solutions / ESG, Syndicate teams and Bankers; as well as colleagues in other departments throughout MUFG in order to establish a relevant peer network globally and ensure effective inter-departmental collaboration
- Develop a practical understanding of all core products within the Capital Markets environment and how they link into broader client discussions
- Daily tasks will include but are not limited to market monitoring, presentation preparation, Excel model keeping / improvement, client communication / market updates, bond pricings
- Skills to be developed / acquired: understanding of bond markets, standalone crafting of presentation material (both for generic materials and client tailored materials), learning to understand clients’ needs and the bank’s capabilities
Qualifications and Personal requirements
- Advanced University studies in Business / Finance / Economics / International Studies
- Fluency in English is required, as well as at least one other European language is essential (French, Spanish, German etc.)
- International experience is a strong positive (different countries, universities, work opportunities)
- Capital Markets / Investment Banking experience is highly valuable
- A proactive, motivated approach, showing strong attention to detail, strong work ethic and commitment to high standards
- Self-starter attitude with the ability to take on ownership of processes over time
- Interest in financial markets and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment within Investment Banking and Capital Markets
- Ability to manage a dynamic workload, and to use sound judgement in order to priorities work accordingly
- Multi-tasking and a calm approach / resilience in order to work effectively under pressure, when required

- Comfortable using Bloomberg
