As a Senior Finance Manager you’ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including but not limited to managing accounting for the Groups IP Portfolio which is held in Super Group Tech Limited and the Brand Intellectual Property and Global Sponsorship costs under Merryvale.
What you’ll be doing
As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:
Monthly Management Reports
- Review of monthly management accounts including income statement and variance analysis, balance sheet and related reconciliations.
- Review of intercompany billing calculations to ensure appropriate billing across entities and in line with contracts.
- Review trial balance to ensure completeness of the accounts.
- Review of open items reports to ensure that all transactions are reconciled, and queries resolved timeously, and all creditors paid timeously. Follow up with team on long outstanding items. Ensure that notes are done.
- Review monthly reconciliation of accounting data to Group Reports.
- Ensure standardisation of reporting and schedules across all entities are maintained.
Analytical reporting
- Review all monthly product and regional income statements ensuring all splits correctly accounted for.
- Review and update summaries of all monthly highlights for income statement, balance sheet and open items. (e.g. Opex report, balance notes, etc.)
- Provide commentary on monthly Scorecard
- Corporate Governance
- Board reporting and minutes
- Preparation of all relevant Board reports.
Audits
- Review analytical review commentary for all material items for the applicable periods relating to income statement and balance sheet.
- Review disclosure note workbooks for the Group consolidations.
- Work with the audit manager to drive team to complete audits timeously and provide updates to the Finance Director on progress and issues identified.
- Ensure SOX controls are prepared by the team & reviewed monthly
Tax Management and compliance
- High level review of all statutory calculations and returns including annual tax returns to the Guernsey revenue services.
- Liaising with tax advisors to ensure we maintain economic substance, providing business plans and forecasts where required as part of the annual submissions.
- Transfer Pricing Governance
- Ensure that all Intercompany and Intergroup billing complies with the Group’s Transfer Pricing policy.
Funds and Asset Management
- Forecast and Going Concern
- Assist the Directors with the relevant forecasts for Super Group Tech and Merryvale.
- Review the monthly rolling forecasts, including the variance analysis and obtain explanations.
- Escalate and unusual variances.
Cashflow
- Ensure timeous supplier and intergroup payments
- Ensure that expenses are appropriate on charged and fees collected timeously to ensure seamless positive cash flow monthly.
- Maintain regular communication with the central treasury department to ensure funds flow when required.
Capex
- Ensure that Sportsbook development costs are correctly accounted for in terms if IAS 38 (IFRS).
- Review the monthly capitalisation workings and ensure that capitalisations have been correctly recorded in the accounting records on the go live date and appropriate amortization and been applied.
- Review the overall reconciliations to ensure that the amounts capitalised are complete and accurate. WIP requires monthly reconciliation and review
Floqast Management
- Ensure all FloQast requirements and deadlines are met monthly, quarterly and annually.
- Ensure all relevant preparers complete FloQast tasks accurately, timelessly and efficiently.
- First review of relevant income statement and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Approvals
- Reviewing and approving of invoices and journals.
Robust and critical systems and controls
- Ensure that ERP and other systems operate effectively and efficiently for responsible companies
- Investigate and recommend solutions to improve operational efficiencies in the team. Ensure successful implementation following approval
- Ensure that all accounting is in line with the Group’s accounting polices and procedures.
- Ensure that appropriate processes are in place in order to identify potential problems and escalate when required.
Other
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams /stakeholders
- Support the finance team in ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as assigned
- Day to day management of the finance team
- Co-ordinate functions in the team to ensure that all team members are working effectively and able to meet all deliverables on time
- Ensure best business practice is embedded across all gaming processes and functions
- Undertake bi-annual team appraisals and performance development reviews
- Ensure team key deliverables are met on time and accurately
- Provide guidance, mentoring and support to all direct reports to ensure your team is working efficiently and coherently
- Bi-annual setting of team objectives and KPI review (at each appraisal).

Essential skills you’ll bring to the table
The necessary skills that we require for this role include:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CGMA, CPA, ACCA, CA etc) is preferred
- Audit experience is highly favourable
- Minimum of 5 years in similar role
- In-depth knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make sound recommendations
- Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., NAV, Cognos) and advanced MS Excel skills
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a finance team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency
- High integrity and ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
Desirable skills you’ve got up your sleeve
It would be great if you also have some the following skills:
- Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standards
- Experience in accounting under IAS38
