Key role is to maintain and develop a profitable portfolio Casualty/Financial line accounts through your relationships with brokers and through new sources, within the guidelines specified at group level that will contribute to the achievement of the underwriting plan –
-Contribute to the overall results of the Group by sound technical and profitable underwriting
-Develop SCOR’s market share and leadership position in Casualty/Financial line segment
-Enhance Group image in the market by efficient and innovative support of client needs
-Actively review new submissions and determine risk quality and pricing terms in line with underwriting guidelines, pricing terminology and market conditions
Key duties and responsibilities
- Generate new offers and promote the Group by pro-active marketing in accordance with the defined strategy and risk appetite.
- Receive, select and evaluate offers of Casualty/Financial line business from various sources by independently analysing all underwriting information including negotiate terms and conditions of the contracts.
- Contribute to the technical knowledge of sectors in which the jobholder is working.
- Maintain / enhancing relationships with clients, cedents and brokers in various market.
- Execute growth strategies including Key account management and Cross Sell Initiatives. Support other SCOR lines by cross selling (Property, Alternative Solutions, Construction and etc.)
- Research, develop and report on new areas of profitable growth, including new business development
- Maintain an accurate database and system of risks accepted in various IT systems used by SI, e.g. Forewriter, Omega II, UP, SalesForce.
- Produce reports of various formats for reporting purposes as required.
- Contribute to the claims settlement in conjunction with the claims department.
- Positively interact with other departments and colleagues in SBS and elsewhere throughout all Underwriting Centres (Singapore, London, Paris,…)
Required experience & competencies
- Minimum 3 years underwriting experience in insurance/reinsurance market (ideally professional line experience in Direct / Facultative)
- Proven underwriting skills for complex Casualty/Financial line program of large corporates (wordings, quotations)
- Knowledge of competitors, cedents and brokers
- Team player
- Proactive, motivated and result oriented
- Curiosity, keen to take on new challenges and responsibilities (e.g. new products or market)
- Resilience, able to work under pressure with competing priorities
- Commercial and tactical vision : ability to successfully negotiate “face to face” with brokers
- Combines strong technical skills with good commercial skills

Master’s degree Insurance, Finance, Risk Management.
