WHAT - Summary & Purpose of the Position
Global Procurement Business Partner supporting Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance and R&D Indirect Services to lead critical workstreams at a global or specific regional level. This role is pivotal in helping to shape the future direction of our R&D procurement strategy through demonstrating a deep understanding of strategic purchasing and partnering closely with key business stakeholders.
WHAT - Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies
Business Partnering
- Be the Procurement single point of contact for Dreux site to partner with the business to gain visibility on site needs and support Procurement activities in accordance with policy and process.
- Be a trusted thought partner in defining vendor selection and sourcing strategies for your respective scope.
- Work closely with Finance to analyze spend and budgets to identify Procurement opportunities and drive savings delivery.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional team and lead negotiation efforts to obtain best value prices, terms, and optimized lead times for services and goods.
Category Management & Procurement Expertise
- Lead outsourcing projects from need definition, cost analysis, negotiation strategy and contract development and provide hands-on procurement execution support.
- Analyze complex spend data and market trends to identify opportunities for cost optimization and value addition in the R&D sector.
- Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap of sourcing projects and a savings pipeline for the assigned categories.
- Support Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives related to respective categories.
- Lead intricate negotiations with key suppliers, fostering partnerships that enhance value, innovation, and collaboration.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Cultivate robust partnerships with strategic and key suppliers, fostering a culture of performance driven by KPIs and metrics.
- Collaborate closely with global category leaders to orchestrate supplier governance meetings and ensure supplier performance alignment with business goals.
Community Engagement & Development
- Contribute to the development and management of the global procurement community, encouraging a culture of teamwork and the sharing of best practices.
- Facilitate and promote compliance with category strategies, processes, policies, and tools, sharing expertise and actively participating in external networking and benchmarking for specific categories.
HOW - Knowledge & Experience
Knowledge & Experience (essential):
- Knowledge of Pharmaceutical industry and Drug Development process.
- Proven strategic sourcing and procurement skills, with a track record of leading critical initiatives at a global or regional level.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to develop plans, identify potential issues, and formulate contingency plans.
- Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to make decisive and effective decisions, taking the initiative where necessary.
- Deep understanding of procurement strategies, processes, systems, and tools.
- Strong ability in data analysis and interpretation, with the capacity to convert general data into actionable insights that add value to the business.
- Demonstrated experience in risk management and supplier relationship management.
Education / Certifications (essential):
- B.S/B.A. + at least 5 years of Procurement/Industry experience
Education / Certifications (preferred):
- Master’s degree in business/management/procurement or related field preferred.
Language(s) (essential):
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English.
Language(s) (preferred):
- French
Travel requirements: up to 20%
