Role Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join Everest Insurance as Head of Claims for France. This pivotal role is responsible for shaping and executing claims solutions that support our business strategy, while ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance. You will lead a high-performing team, manage complex and high-value claims, and work closely with underwriters, brokers, and senior stakeholders to drive business outcomes. With a strong market presence and a focus on delivering exceptional client service, you will play a key role in enhancing our brand, strengthening broker and customer relationships, and contributing to the long-term success of Everest in France.
Key Accountabilities:
Strategic
- Leadership of Claims team in France
- Provision of claims handling service within France
- Develop the France Claims function to meet business targets and plans.
- Personal management of large and complex losses and systemic claims issues, ensuring that these are reported and escalated in line with corporate requirements
- Ensure that team performance meets or exceeds corporate standards
- Work closely with underwriters and Country and Regional management to ensure effective communication and integration of Claims to drive business plans outcomes
- Identify and monitor claims trends and issues, providing insightful and actionable feedback to underwriters, local management and Claims leadership.
- Broker and customer relationship management for France to support the retention and acquisition of business
- Build and manage a team, which will enhance the delivery of strategic goals
- Align, empower, and influence others through ideas, encouragement, and insight
- Market facing role, promoting Everest brand and capabilities within France
- Execution of yearly business planning
- Provide Claim solutions to support clients’ most complex risks and challenges
- Build brand and product awareness through broker market
Operational
- Provide management and oversight of all claims issues in France
- Ensure effective controls are in place and adhered to and that claims handlers are operating within their delegated authorities
- Effective management of expenses in order that Everest maintains its competitive advantage
- Provision of an annual Claims budget and forecast
- Ensure the creation and production of relevant, timely and accurate data and reporting
- Carry out Claim Quality Assurance reviews as necessary to ensure policies and procedures are being followed and that all claims are handled according to Best Practices
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and controls that are in place to meet all regulatory and corporate governance requirements affecting the Branch and Parent, whether internal or external
- Ensure the creation of effective service provider panels and monitor their performance and compliance with required standards
Human Resources
- Build and maintain a high performance team which can deliver strategic goals outlined either above or by executive management
- Performance evaluation and management of direct reports
- Evaluation of staff training needs and coaching
- Remuneration recommendations
- Keep leadership and the HR department apprised of any HR issues that arise within the office, including any disciplinary actions that may be necessary
Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrable experience in commercial P&C and specialty lines
- Fluent in English
- Extensive knowledge and experience in managing claims portfolios
- Exceptional oral and written communication, with the ability to provide concise executive summaries to senior management
- Highly collaborative and able to work effectively across the organisation as well as with external stakeholders
- Ability to adapt and embrace change, solutions driven
- Tenacity and decisiveness, with the courage to take risks
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrates respect for the opinions of others
Professional qualifications and experience:
- A degree educated professional, preferably incl. Claim specific qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in progressive Claim solutions
- Knowledge and experience in managing Claims teams
