To realize our mission, we need bold strategic thinking and world-class execution. Fusion is a globally competitive race—with major implications for energy, industry, and society. As our Head of International Strategy, M&A and Spin-offs, you will report directly to the CEO and help shape the company trajectory across products, markets, and organizational models. Fusion is a young industry, still evolving and morphing… like a plasma! “Reading it” and actively shaping it will be crucial for success. We will have to act and react to other players’ moves. This might include acquiring other companies, or merging, and creating subsidiaries and spin-offs. This role is ideal for someone who combines analytical rigor with entrepreneurial creativity and thrives in fast-evolving, high-uncertainty environments.
Responsibilities
With the support of the Strategic Business Analyst you manage, you are responsible for the following responsibilities:
-
Internal Alignment
- Collaborate with product management, technology, operations, and investor relations teams to align internal strategy with external positioning.
- Build business cases and decision frameworks for major initiatives—balancing ambition with realism, and vision with execution.
- Support board-level communications and fundraising strategy from a market and structure perspective.
- Maintain a regular, proactive dialogue between Renaissance Fusion and its subsidiaries and spin-offs to ensure mutual alignment and the proper understanding and handling of regional and technical nuances.
- Identifying strategic opportunities and risks
- Lead international competitive and market analysis across the fusion ecosystem and adjacent industries (e.g., superconductors, magnets, liquid metals, advanced manufacturing, power systems, microwave technologies, particle accelerator technologies).
- Define and continuously refine our strategic positioning for each product line—fusion and non-fusion—based on technological edge, market needs, and timing.
- Identify and evaluate new strategic opportunities and risks: markets, applications, geographies, partnerships, and potential acquisitions.
- Seizing strategic opportunities and mitigating risks
- Design and implement scalable, capital-efficient pathways to market. This could include subsidiaries, spin-offs, joint ventures, licensing deals, or vertically integrated models.
- Drive strategic due diligence, negotiations, and execution for M&A, partnership, and corporate development opportunities.
- Team management
- Be the ambassador of Renaissance Fusion's vision within your team, and promote its culture, values (speed, simplicity, fantastic realism, constructive interference and unified force) and policies.
- Encourage collaboration at all levels of the organization.
- Ensure that your team is motivated to achieve its objectives: set targets and follow them up with encouragement, support, feedback and responsibility.
- Ensure that employees are in the best position to achieve their objectives: listen to them, look after their well-being, make sure they have the appropriate tools and skills; fill the gap if necessary (recruitment, training, reorganization…).
- Take an active role in talent development: identify potential, determine areas and opportunities for development, encourage reflection on professional projects, propose training courses.
Requirements
Feel free to apply even if you only meet 70% of the requirements. Superheroes don't exist, but people with passion and talent do!
