Roquette legal department is composed of over 60 members operating in 5 functions (Compliance / Corporate, Global Operations, M&A, IP, Regulatory) and 3 regions (EMEA, Americas and APAC).
As business partners and true pillars to Roquette’s growth strategy, the legal function provides strategic legal advice and guidance on the Group’s activities, projects and transactions.
To secure the Group’s ambitions, the legal department’s members have an active involvement upstream in projects and in the design of commercial or partnership strategies, working closely with internal teams (buyers, sales, customer care, quality, engineering, project managers, products managers, researchers) to deliver consistent and pragmatic advice, guidance, recommendation and support in the implementation of the solutions. To achieve the Group's ambitions, members of the legal department are actively involved in the early stages of projects and in the development of commercial or partnership strategies. They work closely with internal teams—such as buyers, sales, customer care, quality, engineering, project managers, product managers, and researchers—to provide consistent and pragmatic advice, guidance, recommendations, and support in implementing solutions.
Key responsibilites
- Contract Management
Develop and implement as mandated by Head of Legal Global Operations CAPEX & Real Estate, Contract Management related processes and standards at global scale, especially that ensure:
- On CAPEX projects identified as critical by Roquette:
Setting-up project related tools to efficiently contract manage the CAPEX; timely issuance of required contractual notices; monitoring and solving partners and any third-party claims and counterclaims through cases preparation/documentation, strategic advises and negotiations; and proactive advise on specific issues, risks, contracts in accordance with the Group’s objectives; and structure, document and propose strategies and solve any ongoing or future claims (defensive/offensive) – pre-litigation step.
- On other commercial agreements with suppliers (including small/medium sized CAPEX, industrial maintenance agreements, etc.):
Develop a contract management framework (establish comprehensive tools and systems to manage contracts efficiently, including variations) ; Design robust standards and guidelines for contract execution ; Create and deliver training programs to educate stakeholders on contract management tools and processes. Ensure stakeholders are knowledgeable about contract standards and best practices. Regularly review and update contract management practices to adapt to changing business needs and industry trends. Propose strategies and solve any ongoing or future claims (defensive/offensive) from suppliers at pre-litigation phase. Develop a framework that makes the negotiation of pre-litigation claims with suppliers easier and more efficient.
- On excellence initiatives
The Contract Manager will optimize Roquette’s contract costs by conducting contract audits, implementing automation tools, standardizing contract language, managing supplier relationships, enhancing compliance monitoring, and applying industry best practices.
Key Accountabilities
- In the context of launching this new function and starting its implementation on key claims / projects, at group corporate level :
- Structure, draft and develop the Contract Management directive and associated governance scheme (claims / contracts’ performance reviews);
- Structure, draft and develop a Contract Management Initiative to enable excellence by optimizing contracts costs execution on ongoing contract, including industrial maintenance agreements;
- Develops a reliable and structure contractual and commercial analysis of large capex projects’ contracts;
- Prepare, with the Global Project Leadersproject department, the contract management strategy for large capex projects;
- Advise the project core team and management on specific contractual points;
- Establish and implement for large capex projects, specific procedures relating to correspondences, notifications, variation requests / orders and claims ;
- Contract Manage large CAPEX projects across;
- Prepare, lead and negotiate variation requests/orders and claims (pre-litigation only);
- Integrate the return of experiencelessons learned from previouson large CAPEX projects capex within the department’s directives and guidelines; and
- Provides training on contract and claim management to project core teams (engineering, project managers, buyers, etc.).

Requirements
Education: Master 2 Business Law, ideally completed with a commercial degree type MBA or M Sc.
Experience: 810+ years’ experience with at least 5 years of experience as an in-house lawyer or consultant in an international and/or manufacturing group
Specific requirements:
- Knowledge on business and legal processes & tools
- Transversal topic management & ability to influence others
- Technology and software knowledge (competent in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and storytelling and mind mapping tools)
- Full working proficiency in English
