Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Budgeting & Reporting, the successful applicant will be responsible for administering the hospital’s operating budget system; conducting monthly functional center variance analysis to provide explanations for financial variances to managers; supporting Cost Center Managers and Directors with their financial enquiries and help identify opportunities for savings; maintaining the statistical ledger; generating ad hoc financial and statistical reports; and the submission of statistical and trial balance data to MOH in compliance with MIS Guidelines. The successful candidate will also be required to process/prepare and assist Directors/Managers on Scarborough Health Network's operating and capital budget. The incumbent will also be expected to attend Program meetings as required and act as a liaison with other departments of finance (Payroll, A/R, A/P, General Accounting) and assigned programs.

Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in either Commerce; Accounting or Financial Management
- Working towards CPA designation
- Two years progressive experience in accounting and/or financial planning
- Current knowledge of accounting procedures
- Understanding of the clinical / corporate structure, and the procedures and performances within the hospital environment.
- Ability to capture details as well as projecting the whole picture, as well as meet demands of high level activity and analysis.
- Experience with information technology (Meditech, SAP), control processes, and systems navigation.
- Advance knowledge of MS Excel and Access.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Word.
- Knowledge of MIS Standards for MOH reporting purposes.
- Excellent communication, organization and planning skills.
- Ability to multi-task with a sense of prioritization and problem solving
- Demonstrates values consistent with SHN’s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation.
